The current Norwegian code of practice for corporate governance was issued in 2012. The purpose of this is to ensure that listed companies implement corporate governance that clarifies the respective roles of its Shareholders, the Board of Directors and its executive management more comprehensively than is required by legislation. The code of practice is intended to strengthen confidence in companies, and help to ensure the greatest possible value creation over time in the best interests of shareholders, employees and other stakeholders.
